When Lawrence Hoy Studios starts a church renovation or restoration, we look at any available historical information and archival photographs to familiarize ourselves with what the church looked like over the years. We often discover amazing elements such as beautiful frescoes, colorful stenciling and architectural beams. that were covered up by layers of paint, sheetrock or dropped ceilings.

After we saw old photos of St. Francis De Sales Church, we could only ask, why had so much of the worship space’s stunning beauty been removed or covered up in the last renovation? Our task was clear: restore, restore, restore, and reclaim the lost beauty of the church’s interior.
