Catholic Cemeteries of Long Island, Queen of Peace Chapel

The Catholic Cemetaries of Long Island commissioned Lawrence Hoy Studios to design the interior and construct the liturgical furnishings and artwork for its new Queen of Peace Chapel. One of our hallmarks, whenever possible, is to repurpose beautiful artwork, stained-glass or marble from other churches to add timeless beauty and character to a new church.  At Queen of Peace Chapel (now in progress) we repurposed, restored and installed exquisite stained-glass windows of the “Life of Mary”, as well as a pair of majestic wrought iron front entrance doors. We also restored and installed an incredible 100-year-old carved marble reredos as the backdrop for a new carved Carrara marble altar and ambo, which we designed and fabricated. A beautifully carved mahogany narthex screen will finish off this remarkable showcase of stunning liturgical design.
