Pope Benedict XVI

This papal throne for Pope Benedict was designed and crafted by Lawrence Hoy for an event at St. Joseph’s Seminary in Yonkers, New York. The throne is of painted and gold leafed wood with upholstery cushions and papal seal of polychromed ceramic. The freedom candle and prie dieux were made for Pope Benedict to be used for his prayer visit to Ground Zero. The pieces are of painted and gilded wood with bronze and ceramic details.
