Sacred Heart of Jesus Church

Sacred Heart of Jesus Church was built in the 1930’s in the Art Deco style of that era. But in the 1980’s it was significantly modified and “modernized” in a Vatican II redesign project. Lawrence Hoy Studios was asked to bring the church back to its former glory. We first removed a center altar platform and balcony that were added to the original sanctuary. We then repainted the interior in subtle colors highlighting its Art Deco heritage. The original terrazzo floor was restored and finished with diamond grinding to a beautiful high polish. The recessed downlighting was converted to LED with a computerized dimming system. Lawrence Hoy Studios was even able to find stunning hand-carved oak wood pews with the image of the Sacred Heart in the pew ends, the perfect addition to the beautiful renovation and restoration of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.
